Traditionally children wear clothing that was worn by their parents or another relative for a special occasion. In our family, like all others, has had a dress handed down now for 40 years. When Mr. P and I got married my sister(age 7) wore a floral frock stitched with love by my mom, first time Mother of the Bride! She’s pictured here in a park downtown near where we were wed, in front of a giant oak.
Years later when my sissy married, my daughter(6 1/2 yrs) wore “Aunties” 15 year old dress to the wedding.
After the wedding, returning to our home town we took her picture; she’s wearing Aunties dress in front of the same oak tree where our wedding portraits were taken, in 1977.
Naturally when my niece was growing and thriving in 1st grade, we begin planning her photo session in the 30 year old dress, that her Mommy wore in 1977! Here is Beatrice at Maclay Gardens State Park.
