The International distress call “Mayday Mayday” did not come until 1923. The expression comes from the French “m’aidez or m’aider” meaning “help me”…and that he did. He helped us and taught us many things.

Soon he was a husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather affectionately known as Granddaddy and Paw Paw. Photo above: May 1, 1962 with my brother Dennis born August 28, my sister Cathy born August 10 and me born May 3.

He loved playing Scrabble with our grandmother, affectionately known as Grand-mommy and Maw Maw. There is even a day for this, April 12 ~ National Scrabble Day

Professionally he worked as an accountant with the Florida Department of Revenue, his real love was music. He is pictured here singing at someone’s wedding, which he was asked to do often.

He passed away Jan 5, 2000, but my memories will be…continued.
