In the Southeast with hurricane season comes “hurricane parties.” My friend Lacy and her family came and stayed with us during #hurricanematthew, weekend of October 8, 2016. They evacuated their area and made it to our town, a place that was not in the path of the storm, on Thursday afternoon. They toured the capital, “the university,” and found discounts on entrance fees and food for evacuees at local museums on Friday, while the rest of us worked and went to school. #stormrefugees

But mostly well wishes, hugs and time to be together!

(To be remembered, our town had #hurricanehermine over Labor Day weekend 2016, most everyone lost power and cell service, etc., in our town.)
