Our summer 2016 vacation with our kids started with a Happy Hour for us on our 39th wedding anniversary…compliments of our son in-laws!
This was our home for 7 days. We rented a camper, and it was actually quite nice, although there were some repairs that had to be done. It was supposed to sleep 7, it really slept 5.
Our first stop was for dinner & sightseeing in the town of Kanab, UT. I came across this adorable bookstore. Bizarre travel pic, but the moon was great, the sky was so blue and this is a very interesting bookstore in a very friendly town.
Our first stop was the Grand Canyon…very windy that day 8/9/’16. #wearefivetoday
Stunning views everywhere you look- GC!
Mother-daughter photo with Lizabeth, GC!
Day 2 we drove along the breathtaking Vermillion Cliffs in Arizona, and then over the Colorado River. 9/10/’16
Lower Antelope Canyon- On our bucket list but neccesarily on the itinerary, However, we decided to go to Lower Antelope Canyon, since we were going right by there through Page, AZ. We loved it! A definite highlight of the trip! We decended stairs into the slot canyon created by flash flood that open up amazing wave formations.
Sand sprinkled in throughout the hike. Great perspective!
Family pic on this hike & we all agree we are so glad we did this! Something crazy photogenic everywhere you look! 8/10/’16
Mom-son pic!
Lower Antelope Canyon!
Us with our youngest Elizabeth & Andy…great photo by one of our two amazing son in-laws.
Now we are 7… and we are hiking “The Narrows.” This is the favorite hike of our first born daughter, Molly. The two of us made it through, all good. Our girls were impressed with our hiking through the water, this was the second time for me. But I was impressed with so many things about them. For instance, how they remained graceful in tight camping quarters.
We made it this far…6 hour round trip!
Day 2 in Zion: 5 of us hike to the Emerald Pools…
These two hiked the “Angels Landing” hike, at an elevation of 5790 feet. (son in-law Billy & son Andy)
Chilly nights called for campfires built by “The Firemasters.” We are so glad we said “Yes” to this trip. We have learned so much about ourselves and each other. This week put a stake in the ground about our love of togeterness and how much we like each other. I am grateful for the time & memories!
My guys, Bryce Canyon hike!
We visited the “Bonneville Salt Flats.”
We wrapped up our visit with the “Color Run 2016!” (Andy & Elizabeth)
